Bangkok · Fertility
ICSI is provided in Bangkok by fertility centres accredited by the Department of Health Service Support. Thai law (the Assisted Reproductive Technology Act 2015) limits IVF, ICSI and IUI to legally married couples; it sets no nationality rule for these. Nobody may buy, sell, import or export eggs, sperm or embryos.
Fertility treatment is a cycle rather than an appointment. The timing is set by your body, not by your travel dates, which makes it the hardest kind of treatment to plan a trip around.

ICSI is IVF with a single sperm injected directly into each mature egg, rather than leaving fertilisation to occur on its own. It is used where sperm quality or previous fertilisation is a concern.
Everything else about the cycle — stimulation, monitoring, retrieval, transfer — is the same as conventional IVF. ICSI is one laboratory step within it.

The same procedure name covers different operations. These are the approaches a clinic will offer, and what separates them.
A single sperm selected by the embryologist and injected into each mature egg.
Selection at much higher magnification. Offered as an upgrade in some laboratories.
Selection based on binding to hyaluronan, intended to identify more mature sperm.
Where there is no sperm in the ejaculate, it is retrieved directly from the testis or epididymis. A separate procedure with its own cost.
These come up at consultation. Knowing them beforehand makes the conversation shorter and the plan clearer.
It is not automatically better than conventional IVF. Ask why it is being recommended in your case.
IMSI, PICSI, time-lapse and similar are priced separately. Ask what evidence the clinic relies on for each.

About 21 days
Clinics vary, and your clinician’s plan overrides anything on this page. The shape is consistent.
Tests and records shared with the clinic, and a video consultation. Ask about eligibility rules early.
Some clinics accept monitoring done at home before you fly. Confirm what they will accept.
The active phase of the cycle. Dates move with your body, so keep travel flexible.
Day-case, with a short recovery. You will need someone with you if sedation is used.
Follow-up and results. Plan for around 21 days in country, and expect it to move.
Agree in writing what is stored, for how long, at what annual cost, and how it is released.
A clinic name is not a clinician. Ask for the individual, their registration, and how often they do this procedure.
Facility fees, anaesthesia, materials, medication, follow-up appointments and take-home items are often quoted separately.
Including if the clinic reschedules, or if the in-person assessment changes the plan.
Ask for the policy in writing: who pays, within what window, and whether it covers a return trip.
A name, a channel, and an expected response time. Aftercare that ends at the airport is not aftercare.
Clinics that perform this in your city see your enquiry, without your details. Up to three take it and come back to you with real quotes. You decide who — if anyone — you talk to.
Everything worth settling before you book, before you fly, while you are in Bangkok, and once you are home — including how this goes wrong and how to avoid it. Tick it here, or take it with you.
All of this is settled on paper, before money moves.
