What mole and skin tag removal costs in Bangkok
On 4 November 2026 we read the CO2 laser prices that one Bangkok hospital and three Bangkok clinics publish on their own websites:
| What is removed | Published prices |
|---|---|
| The first spot | 3,000 baht at the hospital; 1,290 baht for a first mole up to 2 mm, or from 990 baht for a first small skin tag, at one clinic; from 1,000 baht a spot at another; from 800 baht at a third. |
| Each spot after the first | 900 baht a mole and 550 baht a skin tag or wart at the hospital; 990 baht a mole up to 2 mm and from 390 baht a small skin tag at one clinic. |
| Larger moles | 800 to 3,000 baht a spot, by size or place, at one clinic. Another prices larger spots after the doctor sees them, and may price spots around the eyes separately. |
| Warts | 4,000, 5,000 or 6,000 baht for a small, medium or large wart at the hospital; 800 to 3,000 baht a spot at one clinic. Another clinic does not remove warts. |
| Seborrhoeic keratosis | 500 baht for the first very small spot and 300 baht for each one after it, at one clinic. |
The hospital charges 1,500 baht for a repeat treatment. One clinic's prices include the doctor's fee, the anaesthetic and repeat treatment of the same spots within three months. Another clinic's consultation is free.
Which spots a doctor should see first
The three clinics say a doctor examines each spot before treating it, and that a spot that looks suspicious is sent for a biopsy or surgical removal rather than lasered. One clinic says to tell the doctor if a mole has recently changed in size, shape, border or colour, has several colours, bleeds without a clear reason, forms a sore that does not heal, or looks very different from your other moles.
One clinic says a laser suits moles near the surface, and that deeper moles may need to be cut out instead. Another says deeper moles may take more than one session, to avoid a scar from removing the root at once.
The session, and healing
A numbing cream goes on for about 30 minutes to an hour, or a small injection is used instead. The laser itself takes 5 to 30 minutes, depending on the number and size of the spots. Each spot forms a scab, which falls off after 5 to 10 days.
One clinic says the face usually heals in 5 to 7 days and the body in one to two weeks, and to allow at least 14 days to recover. Another says the pink skin underneath fades over two to eight weeks and is mostly back to normal by two to three months, and advises daily sunscreen for at least three months and no swimming pools for seven to ten days. A third suggests having it done after the beach and swimming part of a trip, not before.
Check who treats you
Only a doctor registered and licensed by the Medical Council of Thailand may practise medicine (Medical Profession Act 1982, section 26). The three clinics say a doctor examines and treats each spot. Ask for the name of the doctor who will treat you, and check it on the Medical Council's website by searching their first name and surname, in Thai or in English. It lists only licensed doctors. If you find nothing, the Council answers on 02-590-1887.
No one may present themselves as skilled in a field of medicine unless they hold the Medical Council's certificate for it, or one the Council recognises, or meet criteria set in the Council's regulations (section 28).
What to ask before you pay
- Will the doctor check each spot first, and what happens if one looks suspicious?
- What is the price for the first spot, and for each one after it?
- Are the anaesthetic and a repeat treatment included?
- How long will it take to heal, and what should I avoid?
- What is the doctor's full name?
