Patong · Dentistry
Wisdom tooth removal is done across Patong by dental clinics and hospital dental centres, from a simple extraction in one short appointment to surgical removal of an impacted tooth. This page sets out the indicative price per tooth, what moves it, what the days after look like, and what to ask before you book.
Clinics in Patong price it by how the tooth sits: one that has come through costs least, one trapped in the gum costs more, and one fully in the bone costs most. Which one you have is only known from an X-ray.

Wisdom teeth are the third molars at the very back of the mouth, usually the last teeth to come through, in the late teens or twenties. Many come through normally. Others stay partly or fully trapped in the gum or the jawbone, which is called impacted, and can cause pain, infection, decay in the tooth next to them or gum disease.
A wisdom tooth that causes no problems is usually left alone and checked at routine visits. Removal is for teeth causing trouble. A tooth that has come through is taken out like any other; an impacted one needs minor surgery, usually under local anaesthetic, and takes about 20 to 40 minutes.
The same procedure name covers different operations. These are the approaches a clinic will offer, and what separates them.
For a tooth that has fully come through. Removed whole under local anaesthetic, with no cut in the gum.
The tooth is covered by gum only. A small cut in the gum, the tooth is lifted out, and a few stitches close it.
The tooth sits partly or fully in the jawbone. Some bone is removed and the tooth is often cut into two or three pieces. Clinics price it by how deep it sits.
Where the roots of a lower tooth lie very close to the nerve, the crown is removed and the roots are left in place to lower the risk of numbness.
Local anaesthetic is by far the most common. IV sedation or a general anaesthetic is used for difficult teeth or anxious patients, often in a hospital, at extra cost.
These come up at consultation. Knowing them beforehand makes the conversation shorter and the plan clearer.
A tooth causing no problems is usually kept. Ask the dentist to show you on the X-ray what is wrong with each tooth they want to remove.
All four can often be removed at once; some surgeons do one side at a time. Ask what they plan, and what it means for the total and the length of your stay.
Where a lower tooth sits near the nerve to the lip and tongue, a CBCT scan shows how close. It is usually billed separately.
Local anaesthetic, sedation or a general anaesthetic each change the price, where it is done and when you can travel.
About 7 days
Clinics vary, and your clinician’s plan overrides anything on this page. The shape is consistent.
Send any recent panoramic X-ray. A clinic can tell from it whether a tooth looks simple or surgical, but not the final price.
Examination and imaging, then a written price for each tooth. The removal is often the same day or the next.
Usually 20 to 40 minutes under local anaesthetic. You go home the same day.
Swelling and stiffness peak around day two. Soft food, no smoking, no straws. This is when a dry socket shows if it is going to.
Stitches out or checked, and the socket looked at. This is why the trip is around 7 days for a surgical removal.
Ask for your X-rays and notes. Most swelling has gone within one to two weeks.
A clinic name is not a clinician. Ask for the individual, their registration, and how often they do this procedure.
Facility fees, anaesthesia, materials, medication, follow-up appointments and take-home items are often quoted separately.
Including if the clinic reschedules, or if the in-person assessment changes the plan.
Ask for the policy in writing: who pays, within what window, and whether it covers a return trip.
A name, a channel, and an expected response time. Aftercare that ends at the airport is not aftercare.
Clinics that perform this in your city see your enquiry, without your details. Up to three take it and come back to you with real quotes. You decide who — if anyone — you talk to.

No. It is a starting price. A clinic can only quote after an X-ray shows how each tooth sits.
No. Usually only teeth causing problems do. If all four need to, they can often be removed in one visit.
About 7 days for a surgical removal, so the stitches and the socket can be checked. A simple extraction of a tooth that has come through needs two or three days.
Usually not. Most removals are done under local anaesthetic. Sedation or a general anaesthetic can be arranged for difficult teeth, often at a hospital.
Pain that gets worse instead of better two or three days after the removal, because the blood clot has come out of the socket. The clinic treats it, which is one reason to stay nearby.
