What a tummy tuck costs in Bangkok

On 2 November 2026 we read the tummy tuck prices that one Bangkok hospital and two Bangkok clinics publish on their own websites:

What the surgeon doesPublished prices
Tummy tuck, full126,000 baht at the hospital for patients under 70 kg, with 18,000 baht added for each further 10 kg; from 230,000 baht at one clinic; from 350,000 baht at another clinic.
Mini tummy tuck, below the navel onlyFrom 170,000 baht at one clinic. The hospital quotes it after an examination.
Tummy tuck with liposuctionNo separate price is published. One clinic says liposuction can be added in the same session; the hospital quotes the two as one plan.

The hospital updated its list in August 2026. The clinic with the highest price says its prices are starting prices for a first operation on a typical build.

What the price covers

The hospital says its price covers the surgeon, the anaesthesia and about three nights in hospital, but not flights or a hotel. One clinic says its prices include the general anaesthetic and your medicine. The other says an anaesthetist may be needed in some cases, and that this, and recovery under the clinic's care, may cost extra. Ask whether yours covers:

  • the anaesthesia and the anaesthetist;
  • the nights in hospital, and how many;
  • medicine and the compression garment;
  • taking out the stitches and follow-up visits;
  • a weight surcharge, if you are over the stated weight.

How long to stay, and recovery

The hospital does the operation under general anaesthesia in about two to three hours, and you stay about three nights. A small drain may be left in. The stitches come out at the follow-up 7 to 10 days later, which the hospital says is the least time you need in Bangkok. One clinic says to plan at least seven days, until your surgeon clears you to travel.

Both say the risk of a blood clot is higher after this operation, and advise moving about on the flight home. The hospital adds: keep your ankles moving, drink water and avoid alcohol. It also says to ask your surgeon to clear you for your flight before you fix the date.

The hospital says to wear the garment for four to six weeks, to return to ordinary activity from about two weeks, and to leave strenuous exercise and heavy lifting for four to six weeks. One clinic gives two to four weeks to recover.

Check the surgeon

Only a doctor registered and licensed by the Medical Council of Thailand may practise medicine (Medical Profession Act 1982, section 26). You can check a doctor on the Medical Council's website by searching their first name and surname, in Thai or in English. It lists only licensed doctors. If you find nothing, the Council answers on 02-590-1887.

No one may present themselves as skilled in a field of medicine unless they hold the Medical Council's certificate for it, or one the Council recognises, or meet criteria set in the Council's regulations (section 28). Ask which certificate your surgeon holds, and check the name you are given.

What to ask before you pay

  • Full or mini, and is liposuction included in the price?
  • Is the anaesthetist included, and how many nights in hospital?
  • Is there a surcharge for my weight?
  • When do the stitches come out, and when can I fly?
  • What does a revision cost if I need one?
  • What is the surgeon's full name, and which Medical Council certificate do they hold?
