What teeth whitening costs in Bangkok
On 2 November 2026 we read the whitening prices that eight Bangkok dental clinics publish on their own websites:
| What you are buying | Published prices |
|---|---|
| Philips Zoom in the clinic | 7,900 to 12,000 baht. |
| Other in-clinic systems, including cool-light and laser | 3,590 to 10,000 baht. |
| In-clinic whitening with a home kit to follow | 8,500 to 11,000 baht. |
| Take-home kit of trays and gel | 2,900 to 6,000 baht. |
| Extra home whitening gel | 500 to 800 baht a tube. |
| Whitening one dark tooth from the inside, after a root canal | 2,500 to 7,000 baht a tooth. |
Several clinics show a promotion beside the list price: Zoom at 8,900 or 9,900 baht against a list price of 12,000, and cool-light whitening at 3,900 baht against 7,000. One clinic offers two people Zoom at 9,000 baht each. None of these lists gives an end date for the price or the promotion.
What to check in a quote
- which whitening system and gel the clinic uses;
- how many cycles of gel in one visit: one clinic states four cycles for Zoom, with fresh gel each time;
- whether a home kit comes with it, and how many tubes of gel;
- whether a check-up or scaling is needed first, and what that costs;
- whether the price is a promotion, and until when.
If you have crowns, veneers or fillings on the teeth that show, ask your dentist what to expect from whitening.
How long it takes
In-clinic whitening is one visit. One clinic gives 30 to 60 minutes and a minimum of one to two days in Bangkok, and advises no coffee, tea or red wine for 48 hours afterwards, so plan it early in the trip.
For a take-home kit, one clinic gives two visits: one for impressions of your teeth and one to collect the trays.
Check the dentist
Only a dentist registered and licensed by the Dental Council of Thailand may practise dentistry (Dental Profession Act 1994, section 28). You can check a licence on the Dental Council's website by searching the dentist's first name and surname in Thai. If you find nothing, the Council answers on 02-580-7500 to 7503.
A dentist may only present themselves as skilled in a specialty if they hold the Dental Council's certificate for it, or one the Council recognises (section 30). Under the Council's 2014 guideline on advertising, a dentist without the certificate may not call themselves a specialist.
Under the patients' rights the Dental Council publishes, you may ask the name of the dentist treating you, get enough information to decide, including the cost, and ask another dentist for a second opinion.
What to ask before you pay
- Which whitening system and gel, and how many cycles?
- Is a home kit included, and how many tubes of gel?
- Do I need a check-up or scaling first?
- Is this a promotion price, and until when?
- What should I expect on my crowns, veneers or fillings?
- What is the dentist's full name in Thai?
