What liposuction costs in Bangkok
On 2 November 2026 we read the liposuction prices that two Bangkok hospitals and two Bangkok clinics publish on their own websites. Most price each area of the body separately:
| What the surgeon does | Published prices |
|---|---|
| Vaser, one area | From 25,000 baht at one clinic; from 40,000 baht at another clinic; 66,000 baht at a hospital for the arms, the armpits, the upper or lower abdomen, the back, or the hip and waist on one side. |
| Vaser, thighs or calves | 74,000 baht at the hospital. |
| Tumescent, one area | 55,000 baht at the hospital; 66,000 baht for the outer or inner thighs. |
| Vaser package, by time | 173,000 baht at another hospital, for up to one to two hours of surgery and one night in hospital. |
The hospital that prices per area updated its list in July 2026, and says an area with a very large amount of fat may be charged as two. The package is a promotion that runs to 31 December 2026. The clinics give starting prices, and one says the final price depends on the number of areas and the amount of fat.
What the price may leave out
One clinic says an anaesthetist's fee is charged on top. The hospital that prices per area does both techniques under general anaesthesia, with one night in hospital. Ask whether yours covers:
- the anaesthesia and the anaesthetist;
- the night in hospital;
- the compression garment;
- medicine for pain and swelling;
- taking out the stitches and follow-up visits;
- whether a large area will be charged as two.
How long to stay, and recovery
The hospital that prices per area says each area takes about an hour, and advises staying near Bangkok for 7 to 10 days. One clinic recommends staying at least five days and waiting at least five days before flying. The other hospital says the stitches come out after about a week.
You wear a compression garment afterwards. How long varies: one hospital says 6 days to 2 weeks without taking it off, one clinic says 4 to 6 weeks, and the other says 18 to 20 hours a day for the first month. Swelling and bruising settle within about two weeks, by one hospital's account; the other says swelling improves within a month, and the contour settles over three to six months.
One hospital says to avoid exercise for a month after surgery; the other says strenuous activity resumes gradually after about a month. One says a large amount of fat cannot be removed in one session because of the risk of blood loss, so a big job may take more than one session.
Check the surgeon
Only a doctor registered and licensed by the Medical Council of Thailand may practise medicine (Medical Profession Act 1982, section 26). You can check a doctor on the Medical Council's website by searching their first name and surname, in Thai or in English. It lists only licensed doctors. If you find nothing, the Council answers on 02-590-1887.
No one may present themselves as skilled in a field of medicine unless they hold the Medical Council's certificate for it, or one the Council recognises, or meet criteria set in the Council's regulations (section 28). Ask which certificate your surgeon holds, and check the name you are given.
What to ask before you pay
- Which technique, and how many areas will I be charged for?
- Is the anaesthetist included, and is it general anaesthesia?
- Are the night in hospital, the garment and medicine included?
- When do the stitches come out, and when can I fly?
- What does a touch-up cost if I need one?
- What is the surgeon's full name, and which Medical Council certificate do they hold?
