What an IV drip costs in Bangkok
On 3 November 2026 we looked for the IV drip prices that Bangkok hospitals and clinics publish on their own websites. One hospital, which updated its pages in October 2026, and one clinic, which updated its promotion and price list in October 2026, publish them:
| Drip | Published prices |
|---|---|
| Vitamin drips: multivitamin, vitamin C or a skin formula | 999 baht a session at the clinic. |
| Chelation with mixed vitamins | 4,700 baht a session at the hospital, 13,500 baht for three, 22,000 baht for five and 42,000 baht for ten. |
| Amino acids, for muscle recovery | 4,700 baht a session at the hospital. |
| NAD+ | 9,500 baht a session at the hospital, 27,500 baht for three and 45,500 baht for five; 4,999 baht for 250 ml at the clinic. |
The clinic's prices are on its promotion and price list. Ask whether a doctor's consultation is included.
What goes into a drip
A drip passes fluid with vitamins, amino acids or other agents straight into a vein. The names are the provider's own, so ask what is in the bag and at what dose.
The hospital's amino acid drip is a blend of amino acids, 45.8% of them the three branched-chain amino acids leucine, isoleucine and valine. Its chelation drip uses a substance called EDTA. The hospital says a drip is not a substitute for a balanced diet or for treating a medical condition, that the benefit depends on your needs and on the formula, and that IV therapy carries risks, including infection and irritation of the vein.
The session, and afterwards
The hospital's amino acid drip takes about 60 to 90 minutes. A chelation drip takes one to three hours, and the hospital says a full course is up to 30 sessions, one to three times a week.
The hospital asks you to tell staff at once if you feel sick, dizzy, flushed or uncomfortable during the drip.
Before you book
The hospital says a doctor should see you first, and asks you to tell the doctor about kidney or liver disease, metabolic disorders or other conditions, every medicine and supplement you take, any allergy or reaction to an earlier drip, and whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Check the doctor
Only a doctor registered and licensed by the Medical Council of Thailand may practise medicine (Medical Profession Act 1982, section 26). You can check a doctor on the Medical Council's website by searching their first name and surname, in Thai or in English. It lists only licensed doctors. If you find nothing, the Council answers on 02-590-1887.
No one may present themselves as skilled in a field of medicine unless they hold the Medical Council's certificate for it, or one the Council recognises, or meet criteria set in the Council's regulations (section 28). Ask which certificate your doctor holds, and check the name you are given.
What to ask before you pay
- What exactly is in the drip, and at what doses?
- Is the doctor's consultation included in the price?
- Who puts the drip in, and is a doctor there during it?
- How long will it take, and how many sessions do you suggest?
- What happens if I react during the drip?
- What is the doctor's full name?
