Hair transplant cost in Bangkok: price per graft, packages, and the rules

A hair transplant in Bangkok is priced by the graft, from about 70 baht to 200 baht each, or as a package from about 40,000 baht. The technique and the number of grafts you need set the total. This guide sets out what clinics publish, what to check in a quote, and how to plan the trip.

What a hair transplant costs in Bangkok

On 2 November 2026 we read the prices that five Bangkok hair clinics publish on their own websites. Most price by the graft:

TechniquePublished price per graft
FUE, with the head shaved70 to 95 baht.
FUE without shaving (non-shaven)120 to 150 baht.
Long-hair FUE160 to 200 baht.
DHI70 to 109 baht.
FUT70 to 95 baht at one clinic.

One clinic charges 90 baht a graft under 1,000 grafts, with a minimum of 59,000 baht, and publishes these totals for shaved FUE: 80,000 to 120,000 baht for 1,000 to 1,500 grafts, 160,000 to 200,000 baht for 2,000 to 2,500, and 240,000 to 280,000 baht for 3,000 to 3,500. It charges more to repair work done elsewhere: 100 to 150 baht a graft.

Two clinics sell packages instead: 39,900 to 99,999 baht for FUE and non-shaven FUE, 89,990 to 149,990 baht for DHI and similar techniques, and 115,990 to 119,990 baht for long hair. One gives these as starting prices, and the other caps its packages at 2,000 or 2,500 grafts. None of the five lists gives an end date for its prices.

What a package may include

Clinics say their prices include some of these. Ask which yours covers:

  • the doctor and the operating room;
  • a free assessment of how many grafts you need;
  • hair washes and scab clearing after the procedure;
  • hair-loss medicine, at one clinic for twelve months;
  • light therapy and follow-up visits for a year;
  • extra grafts if growth is poor at a year, which one clinic offers on its own terms.

The number of grafts decides the price, so ask for the count in writing, and whether the total can change on the day.

How long it takes

One clinic gives four to eight hours for the procedure, under local anaesthesia. Another gives six to eight hours for 2,000 grafts and eight to ten for 3,000, and says a large case may be split over two sessions. The first clinic says you go home the same day.

One clinic says daily activities are possible within one to two days, and advises no heavy exercise and keeping the grafted area dry for three to five days. New hair starts to grow at three to four months, with the full result at nine to twelve months, so the outcome shows long after you are home.

None of the clinics we read says when you can fly. Ask yours, and allow time for the first wash and check.

Check the doctor

A hair transplant is surgery, and only a doctor registered and licensed by the Medical Council of Thailand may practise medicine (Medical Profession Act 1982, section 26). You can check a doctor on the Medical Council's website by searching their first name and surname, in Thai or in English. It lists only licensed doctors. If you find nothing, the Council answers on 02-590-1887.

No one may present themselves as skilled in a field of medicine unless they hold the Medical Council's certificate for it, or one the Council recognises, or meet criteria set in the Council's regulations (section 28). A foreign board or society membership is not a Thai licence. Ask who will do each part of the procedure, and check the doctor's name.

What to ask before you pay

  • How many grafts do I need, and what is the price per graft?
  • Is the price a package with a graft limit, and what if I need more?
  • Which technique, and do I need to shave?
  • What is included: medicine, washes, follow-ups?
  • When can I fly home?
  • Which doctor will do the procedure, and what is their full name?
