What buccal fat removal and facial fat transfer cost in Bangkok
On 3 November 2026 we looked for the prices Bangkok hospitals and clinics publish on their own websites. One hospital, which updated its price list in October 2026, and one clinic, which updated its price list in September 2026, publish them. The clinic gives starting prices:

Buccal fat removal
The buccal fat pad is a deep pad of fat in the cheek, between the chewing muscles, that some people have more of from birth; it often stays when the rest of the body loses weight. The clinic removes it through a cut inside the mouth, under local anaesthesia, in about 30 minutes, with stitches that dissolve. Fat-dissolving injections reach only the shallow fat under the skin, not this deeper pad.
The clinic says most doctors advise waiting until 20 or older, because the face naturally loses fat with age and removing too much early can leave the cheeks hollow later. It does not help uneven cheeks caused by the bone or a larger chewing muscle. Recovery takes 3 to 7 days with care of the wound inside the mouth, and the result shows over one to three months.
Facial fat transfer
Fat is taken by liposuction from the tummy, thighs or hips, prepared, and injected into the face to restore fullness. It must be your own fat. The clinic says only about 40% of the fat stays after the first session, so many people have a second; what stays can last for years, and it changes with your weight.
The clinic advises no hot or cold compresses, sleeping propped up for a month and talking as little as possible for two to three weeks, so the fat takes. Some clinics freeze spare fat for a later top-up; ask how long it is kept.
Risks
Buccal fat removal works near nerves, the duct of the salivary gland and an artery; the clinic says the main risks are cheeks that end up too hollow or uneven, which are hard to correct. With fat transfer, fat that does not take, lumps and an uneven surface can follow, and the clinic links them to how the fat is taken, prepared and injected, and to the aftercare.
Check the surgeon
Only a doctor registered and licensed by the Medical Council of Thailand may practise medicine (Medical Profession Act 1982, section 26). You can check a doctor on the Medical Council's website by searching their first name and surname, in Thai or in English. It lists only licensed doctors. If you find nothing, the Council answers on 02-590-1887.
No one may present themselves as skilled in a field of medicine unless they hold the Medical Council's certificate for it, or one the Council recognises, or meet criteria set in the Council's regulations (section 28). Ask which certificate your surgeon holds, and check the name you are given.
What to ask before you pay
- Is my full face from the deep buccal pad, the fat under the skin, or the bone or muscle?
- How much will you remove, and what if one side needs less?
- For fat transfer: where is the fat taken from, and is the liposuction included?
- How many sessions do you expect, and what does a second one cost?
- What is the surgeon's full name, and which Medical Council certificate do they hold?
