What Invisalign and braces cost in Bangkok
On 2 November 2026 we read the orthodontic prices that nine Bangkok dental clinics and hospitals publish on their own websites. Prices are for a full course of treatment:
| What you are buying | Published prices |
|---|---|
| Invisalign, smaller packages (Go, Express, Essential, Lite) | 49,000 to 145,000 baht, for mild cases with fewer aligners. |
| Invisalign Moderate | 129,000 to 170,000 baht. |
| Invisalign Comprehensive | 149,000 to 185,000 baht. Across all cases, published Invisalign prices run from 49,000 to 240,000 baht. |
| Metal braces | 35,000 to 100,000 baht. |
| Ceramic (clear) braces | 50,000 to 126,000 baht. |
| Self-ligating braces, such as Damon | 39,000 to 160,000 baht. |
| Lingual braces, fitted behind the teeth | 120,000 to 250,000 baht. |
| A retainer after treatment | 2,500 to 6,900 baht per arch for a standard retainer; 10,000 to 15,000 baht a pair for Invisalign's Vivera retainers. Some clinics include the first retainers. |
Three of the lists are valid until 30 November or 31 December 2026; the rest give no end date. Lists that ended on 31 October 2026 are left out. Two clinics state that Thai and foreign patients pay the same.
How the fees are paid
Invisalign is sold as a package for the whole course, often split into three to six instalments. Larger packages may include extra aligners for a set number of years, if your teeth need more correction.
Braces are often billed in two parts: a larger amount when the brackets are fitted, then a fee at every adjustment visit. At the clinics that publish this, fitting costs about 3,000 to 40,000 baht and each adjustment visit 1,500 to 4,000 baht, until treatment ends. One hospital adds a 300-baht sterilisation fee per visit, and some clinics charge separately for the first records: X-rays, photographs and moulds.
Ask for the full-course total in writing, with what happens if treatment takes longer than planned.
If you do not live in Thailand
Braces need adjusting at the clinic every four to eight weeks, and treatment typically takes 12 to 24 months; clinics give up to three or four years for complex cases. One clinic says plainly that fixed braces suit people who live in Bangkok, and another recommends that patients living abroad choose aligners instead.
Clear aligners need fewer visits. You change aligners every one to two weeks at home, and clinics check progress every six to ten weeks. One clinic spaces checks eight to twelve weeks apart for international patients, with photo check-ins between trips. At one clinic the aligners arrive two to four weeks after you approve the treatment plan, so the first trip may need a scan and a later visit to start.
Before you start, agree who will see you if a problem comes up at home, and whether a dentist where you live can take over if you cannot come back.
Check the orthodontist
Only a dentist registered and licensed by the Dental Council of Thailand may practise dentistry (Dental Profession Act 1994, section 28). You can check a licence on the Dental Council's website by searching the dentist's first name and surname in Thai. If you find nothing, the Council answers on 02-580-7500 to 7503.
Orthodontics is a recognised specialty. A dentist may only present themselves as skilled in it if they hold the Dental Council's certificate for it, or one the Council recognises (section 30). Under the Council's 2014 guideline on advertising, a dentist without that certificate may not call themselves a specialist; they may only say they provide orthodontic treatment, followed by their actual qualification. Ask whether the person planning your treatment holds the orthodontics certificate.
Under the patients' rights the Dental Council publishes, you may ask the name of the dentist treating you, get enough information to decide, including the cost, and ask another dentist for a second opinion.
What to ask before you pay
- What is the full-course total, including every adjustment visit?
- Which Invisalign package, and how many aligners and refinements does it include?
- Are X-rays, scans, records and the first retainers included?
- How often must I come back, and can checks be done by photo?
- What happens, and what does it cost, if treatment runs longer than planned?
- Who will see me at home if a bracket breaks or an aligner does not fit?
- Does the dentist planning my treatment hold the orthodontics certificate?
